evanescence (ev'e-nes'ens ): a dissipation or disappearance like vapor

I'm sure everyone has heard "Bring Me To Life." Well, that song was written by a band called Evanescence. Or Ev as they are known to fans. This band is just amazing. With the guitar work of Ben Moody and the haunting voice of Miss Amy Lee.

Evanescence hail from Arkansas. I know I was just as surprised to hear they were from there. I didn't know that Arkansas could produce such a strong musical force.

This band has meant so much to me over the last couple of months. The lyrics alone are enough to make me have chills, but when you add the riffs behind it that just makes it magical. I have had the pleasure of seeing them live when they came though Pueblo. Through their music I have also connected deeper with Chris. Him and I both feel the same way about this band. In fact it was him that told me about them. Before they were just "that band" that sang that "one song."

Everyone that knows me knows i have panic disorder. Well not very many things have been able to help. Durning my attacks i have found that Ev helps more then i could ever tell you. Listening to Amy's voice and being pulled into their world of words and music can calm me and bring my body the peace that the panic and fear keep it from. I dont know how i would even begin to thank them for that. There are no words. Theirs is the first cd that is played in the morning. I roll over press play on my controler and listen to every song on 'Fallen' then i get out of bed and start my day.

"I can stop the pain if I will it all away!"

Pueblo, Co Concert Review
"What's up with the seats on the floor?!"- Amy Lee (on the GA seating)

Watching Amy Lee on stage is in itself a beautiful thing. To see someone so beautiful and so talented is a privilege. Evanescence is a force in music. They are monsters on stage. They play like every show is their last. They give everything they have. And as a fan I can't thank them enough for that. Amy's voice is so serene and ethereal. When she opened her mouth the world stops. Her voice grabs you and holds you then without warning it shakes you to your core. Watching her on stage is like watching a snow leopard being released back into the wild. It just does what comes natural. I can sit and say that Evanescence was by far the best show I have ever seen. Not only did it get me musically but it touched my soul. There aren't very many bands that can do that. And for that it was an amazing show. The moment the curtain dropped and she sang the first words to "Haunted" it was like she transported everyone from their world and brought them to hers. I'm listening to "Hello" right now and I can still feel her voice resonate through my body. I don't think I will ever lose that feeling. To watch Ben on stage is awesome. He just has this powerful presence to him. He has a Phil Anselmo like vibe when he takes the stage. He plays with so much heart and you can see that he was born to do what he is doing. He commands that stage with this phoneme type presence. Watching them play "Taking Over Me" made me cry. That song means more to me then I could ever express to them. I don't know if there is a heaven. But if there is I imagine it would be like what I saw last night. After that show things changed. Yet, stood the same.It was like a gloss was removed from my eyes. It's hard to explain and put into words. I hope i did the band justice in my words here ~Drea~
